Best weekend football bets
Caught your breath yet from the UCL monster midweek fixtures? Me neither. There’s nothing better to look forward to though like a game of Premier League fixtures, including a blockbuster clash between last season's top two.
Our tips will consist of the following categories:
· The Banker – A bet with shorter odds that is typically, statistically, more likely to happen.
· The Earner – An upgrade on the banker that holds more potential profit, at a greater risk.
· The Long Shot – A bet with longer odds that aims to secure significant profit but as the name suggests, is often difficult to pull off.
· The Accumulator – A combination of often shorter odd bets to create a longer, more profitable accumulator.
The Banker - (EVENS)
Bryan Mbeumo & Heung-Min Son both to have a shot on target (1/1)
Tottenham’s trip to the Gtech Stadium shouldn’t be short of action and shots on target with each of the last four meetings between these sides resulting in at least four goals being scored.
Brentford concede the second-highest average shots on target in the Premier League (6.22 per 90). Despite Tottenham’s struggles of late, Heung-Min Son has started to step up, netting three goals in his past four games in all competitions, and recording a shot on target in each of his previous five Premier League starts.
Tottenham’s defensive struggles have been well documented with Ange Postecoglou’s side allowing their opposition plenty of chances at testing their weakened defence. Bryan Mbeumo is averaging 0.96 shots on target per 90 this season and has recorded six shots on target in his previous three league games.

The Earner - (3/1)
Aston Villa to win, Ollie Watkins & Matheus Cunha both to have a shot on target (3/1)
The Midlands derby is Saturday’s late kick off with Unai Emery’s Aston Villa looking to make it three straight victories against Wolves at Molineux.
Aston Villa look great value at 11/10, especially considering Wolves have lost four straight league games and continue to struggle as of late under Vitor Periera.
Ollie Watkins has recorded a shot on target in all of his previous three Premier League games, and is averaging 1.35 shots on target per 90 this season.
Wolves, top scorer this season - Matheus Cunha, may not have been among the goals as much of late, but the Brazilian has still recorded 7 shots on target in his past 5 Premier League games and retains an impressive average of 1.31 shots in target per 90 this season.

The Long Shot - (9/1)
Jurrien Timber to be booked & Erling Haaland to score or assist (9/1)
Last season’s top two meet again at the Emirates on Sunday, and whilst Manchester City’s fortunes this season have taken an unexpected downturn - this game will still have plenty on the line.
Jurrien Timber is 15/4 to be booked anytime in the match, which is seemingly good odds for a player who has picked up 6 yellow cards (the most out of any Arsenal player) and has been booked in both of his last two games in all competitions.
Timber will also likely be facing up against either Jeremy Doku or Jack Grealish, both of who are recording very high averages this season for fouls drawn per 90 (2.05 and 3.09 respectively).
Erling Haaland may be having a ‘slower’ season by his standards but the Norweigan has still netted 18 goals in 23 Premier League starts this season and is back on-form after scoring five goals in his last five starts across all competitions.
Haaland also boasts an impressive record against the Gunners, scoring three goals and asistsing another two in his five previous meetings with Mikel Arteta’s side.

The Accumulator - (11/1)
Everton, Ipswich, Newcastle and Manchester United all to win (11/1)
Everton are enjoying a sudden improvement in form ever since David Moyes’ second arrival at Goodison Park. The Toffees have a potential relegation six-pointer on Saturday, facing Leicester City who may have shocked Spurs last weekend, but have still only picked up three points out of a possible 24.
At the very same time, another crucial relegation clash is taking place at Portman Road with Ipswich Town hosting rock-bottom Southampton. Ipswich’s odds are long for this game due to their current run of three straight defeats, but their opponents, Southampton, are enduring an astonishing thirteen game winless run in the Premier League.
Newcastle suffered a surprise loss to Bournemouth two weeks ago but bounced back with a win against Southampton. That loss however looks just a blemish on an outstanding run of 11 wins from 12 games that the Magpies are enjoying.
Newcastle’s opponents, Fulham, are having an impressive season but have only won one of their previous five Premier League games.
Manchester United aren’t exactly flying but they have pieced together back-to-back wins after a 1-0 victory at Craven Cottage last Sunday. The Red Devils host Crystal Palace on Sunday whose loss to Brentford breaks some of the momentum the Eagles may have been building. United have also won 4 of their past 5 games at home against Crystal Palace.
