🤑 The Weekend's Best Football Bets

It is the final week of club football before the international break returns, yes… again. But there is still plenty of money to be won with the help of our tips below!

Our tips will consist of the following categories:

·   The Banker – A bet with shorter odds that is typically, statistically, more likely to happen.

·   The Earner – An upgrade on the banker that holds more potential profit, at a greater risk.

·   The Long Shot – A bet with longer odds that aims to secure significant profit but as the name suggests, is often difficult to pull off.

·   The Accumulator – A combination of often shorter odd bets to create a longer, more profitable accumulator.

The Banker (6/5)

Kai Havertz to score against Southampton (6/5)

Arsenal on Saturday take on one of the most defensively open sides in the Premier League so far this season in Southampton.

Although the Gunners made tough work of their home victory over Leicester last weekend, Arteta’s side should put plenty of goals past Southampton whose defensive frailties were displayed on Monday night against Bournemouth with the Saints’ own manager, Russell Martin, publicly berating his team's display.

The visitors concede two goals in each Premier League game on average this season and with Kai Havertz expected to start yet again for Arsenal, the former Chelsea forward could continue his current hot streak in front of goal.

Havertz has scored in each of his last three games in all competitions and is currently the Gunners’ top goalscorer in the Premier League this season. There will almost undoubtedly be goals flying in at the Emirates on Saturday with Havertz the most likely scorer.

The Earner (4/1)

Ollie Watkins, Morgan Rogers & Joshua Zirkzee all to have a shot on target (4/1)

This bet which focuses on perhaps the headline fixture of this weekend’s Premier League games contains two players in Watkins and Zirkzee who are comfortably averaging over a shot on target per game, and a player in Rogers who falls just short of that average.

Aston Villa will return to Villa Park on Sunday after a memorable Champions League victory over Bayern Munich with Rogers and Watkins expected to start especially after a suspected injury to fellow forward, Jacob Ramsey, who was forced off in the first half of the game.

Watkins has the most average shots on target for Aston Villa (out of players who have played two 90 mins or more) with 1.43 shots on target per 90 with Morgan Rogers a close second with an average of 0.88 per 90.

Villa’s attacking duo should have plenty of chances at goal against a Manchester United side who continue to look out of sorts and conceded three goals at home to Tottenham last weekend as well as allowing ten shots on target.

Joshua Zirkzee is currently the man tasked with leading the Red Devils attacks and while Ten Hag’s side has struggled to find the back of the net, Zirkzee has had plenty of chances, averaging 1.52 shots on target per 90 (the most out of any Manchester United player) with the Dutchman likely to record a shot on target yet again come Sunday.

The Long Shot (16/1)

Both teams to score, Jarrod Bowen & Liam Delap to have 2+ shots on target each (16/1)

West Ham who continue to struggle under new manager, Julen Lopetegui, will be looking to find their first win of the season against Ipswich Town who have a skip in their step after an impressive home display against Aston Villa which earned the Tractor Boys a draw.

While the Hammers remain favourites, Ipswich have looked effective in attack recently and with the hosts having the joint 4th worst defensive record in the Premier League (conceding 1.66 goals per game on average) both teams to score seems a good bet.

As for shots on target, Jarrod Bowen will hopefully continue to be West Ham’s shining light in a dark spell after the captain admitted his team hasn’t been good enough after an away draw to Brentford. The forward currently averages 0.7 shots on target per 90 but that number could well increase against Ipswich at home who concede 4.17 shots on target per game.

Liam Delap, despite playing away, looks the safer option in the bet after he recorded three shots on target in his last game and even netted twice which should give the striker plenty of confidence to take on more shots on target against a relatively open West Ham team.

The Accumulator (15/1)

Liverpool, Arsenal, Bournemouth, Man City, Chelsea & Tottenham all to win (15/1)

This accumulator, barring Manchester City, won last week although we are backing Guardiola’s side to quickly recover from their tough away day at Newcastle and beat a Fulham side at home who haven’t beaten the Citizens since 2009.

Liverpool are the early kick-off of the weekend and travel to a Crystal Place side who look in disarray and still remain searching for their first win of the season. Slot’s side look in full flow at the moment and should have the better of the Eagles.

Arsenal vs Southampton sees two sides that are enduring opposite runs of form with the Gunners currently feeling high after their Champions League victory over PSG. Saints however can’t stop leaking goals and with their own manager criticising their performance - it would be a huge shock to see the visitors walk away with a point at all on Saturday.

Bournemouth were the side to beat Southampton most recently and the Cherries are continuing to impress with their free-flowing football under Iraola. Summer signing, Evanilson getting off the mark should help too with Bournemouth looking good value at 11/10 to win away at Leicester who remain winless since their return to the top flight.

Chelsea and Tottenham both play on Sunday with both London clubs catching the headlines with goal-rich displays last weekend. Chelsea host Nottingham Forest who have struggled to reclaim their form of the first few games of the season while Spurs face Brighton away, who are facing similar struggles to Forest, picking up just one point in their last two league games.
